World Championship
This year I have been competing in a national series,
the South African Rotax Max Challenge.
I managed to end 2nd in the championship, which means
I get to go overseas to compete in the world championship.
I will be leaving for La Conca in Italy on the 25th
of November.

National Championship

This weekend was the national championship final.
We started the weekend off with an unusual type of
qualifying
What was required to do is, we had 3 laps in which
one of them was a warm up lap and the other 2 were flying
laps, your fastest lap determined where you would begin
the first race heat and your second lap determined where
you started the second race heat.
I managed to qualify pole for the first race heat but
only managed 2nd place for the second race heat.
Heat 1:
Starting off in pole position I managed to get a good
start coming out of turn one in first place, from then
on it was a relatively smooth race I led the entire
race but I was under slight pressure from an approaching
competitor, in the end I took the win.
Heat 2:
In heat 2 I started the race in second place, went through
turn one came out in third place got overtaken by another
competitor and found myself in 4th place. I then began
to fight my way back to the top by overtaking the competitor
ahead of me, which put me in third, I then started to
catch up to the competitor ahead I over took him and
then a few laps later over took the next competitor,
I was then in first place and maintained my lead for
the rest of the race.
Heat 3:
I started this race in pole position , got a good start
coming out of turn one in first place , but it was soon
taken away by a fellow competitor, I stayed behind him
for 4 laps then I re overtook him and lead the rest
of the race and drove to the checkered flag.
Heat 4:
I started this race in pole, came out of turn one in
second. The following lap I was overtaken by another
competitor who ran me completely wide, almost forcing
me off the track. This allowed another competitor through.
From then on they blocked me continuously until the
race was over. I was unable to make any move whatsoever
so I finished the 4th heat 4th.
Overall:
Overall, although I came fourth in the final heat, I
still managed to come 1st overall and win the day.
